The Role

The Senior L&D Training Officer role offers a unique opportunity to be part of our training & learning strategy and have an impact on commercial archaeology in the UK. You will ideally have experience in commercial archaeology, and you are confident to build relationships on all levels across the company.

 

The post will involve being part of a small team planning and delivering training throughout the company. With one direct report the Senior Training Officer will support the L&D and Wellbeing Manager in continuing to develop a learning culture and creating innovative training materials, and then delivering them to teams either through classroom, online or eLearning. This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced heritage professional with previous teaching/training experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work in line with the full training cycle to include evaluation
  • Undertake training needs analysis as required and undertake feedback and assessment of project training requirements
  • Lead the strategy for providing measurable fieldwork learning development and support
  • Deliver Headland training module training to employees on-site or off-site
  • Lead the process consistent stakeholder leading and delivery
  • Assesses training competencies as required.
  • Create and or maintain training manuals as required to support specialist skills
  • Create learning content using a variety of L&D media to include eLearning
  • Produce training reports as directed
  • Responsible for training officer(s)
  • Undertake other tasks appropriate to your skills and knowledge

 

Essential Key Skills

  • Experience in British commercial archaeology
  • Previous experience in a teaching or training environment in similar role
  • Self-motivated and organised
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Willing to travel regularly, undertake periods of away working
  • A clean driving license
  • Passionate about learning and development of our employees
  • Comfortable and proficient in public speaking
  • Proficient in the use of the Microsoft Office suite
  • Professional membership of the Chartered Institute for Archaeologists (CIfA)

  • Membership of the Chartered Institute Personal and development (CIPD)
  • Degree-level education
  • SSSTS
  • Level 3 First Aid at Work
