Laurence has worked in the heritage sector for over 19 years; as a Principal Consultant he is responsible for the management and technical review of historic environment projects. He has been involved with a wide range of projects associated with energy transmission/generation, transport infrastructure, industrial and commercial development in greenfield and brownfield locations throughout the UK.
Laurence specialises in assessments for developments affecting the setting of designated assets nationwide, including listed buildings, conservation areas and scheduled monuments using the relevant national guidance in England, Wales and Scotland. Recent project experience includes provision of heritage and conservation advice for the Crossrail and Intercity Express programmes, compliance review of archaeological and built heritage EIAs, implementation of archaeological site investigation and mitigation for gas pipeline diversions ahead of HS2, and the preparation of scoping and mitigation works for major road and infrastructure projects.
