Having joined Headland in 2019 with over 17 years’ experience in Learning and Development and nearly 30 years Operational Management experience, Ian is responsible for the strategy and drive of the Learning and Development team. As a support service, L&D has a remit to ensure continual improvement, development and innovation in skills across the company. The combination of his previous experiences gives him a unique insight which Ian continues to draw upon, contributing to all aspects of field skills, business processes and support for employees to enhance learning.
Ian previously worked in the public sector and prior to that, national and international private organisations, giving him a detailed understanding of the challenges facing businesses at all levels in developing staff. Ian aims to bring learning and development to life and in doing so ensure that learning is relevant and realistic. He knows that by changing behaviours, tangible measurable outcomes can be achieved that make a difference to daily performance. Ian specialises in management and leadership, performance management and soft skills training. His passion is learning from others, drawing on their rich sources of experience. He is also a Mental Health trainer, First Aid trainer, Moving and Handling trainer and is qualified to deliver Education and Training.
