The Role

You will

  • Help develop the Strategy for Research, Development and Innovation for both Internal and External purposes.
  • Create efficiencies and added value through innovation and diversifying revenue streams.
  • Articulate and promote a credible vision for Research, Development and Innovation within the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Developing the RDI strategy so that it delivers Headland’s existing product and service range and maintains Headland’s position as a market leader
  • Helping to commercialise new ideas
  • Acting as the RDI influencer for Headland within RSK Group
  • Communicating and coordinating the company’s RDI output through structuring a highly effective team of subject matter experts.
  • Oversee the identification, conceptualisation, development and delivery design of new technologies and existing product improvements
  • Identifying areas for revenue growth and market needs
  • Developing links and promoting Headland as a thought leader in this industry area
  • Leading on the preparation of R & D Tax Credit data

 

Essential Key Skills

  • You will be educated to degree level
  • You can drive, hold a valid licence and are willing to drive company vehicles
  • You will be open-minded, entrepreneurial, passionate about Headland’s business and proud of what it is striving to achieve with a determination to build a culture that promotes growth
  • As a problem solver, if needed, you will be able to source input from outside your team in order to achieve the best results

Desirable Skills

  • Your degree will be in a science or technology related subject
  • You are a member of a relevant professional body
  • You will have demonstratable experience of delivering research development and innovation in a relevant sector with tangible outputs
  • You will have experience of translating strategy into delivery through plans, programmes people and culture
  • You will have experience of budgetary responsibility and budget setting including an understanding of general corporate financial processes
  • Experience in coordinating RDEC submissions and working with external auditors.
