Geoarchaeology Project Manager
Chris is a geoarchaeologist/archaeological scientist with over 25 years of experience working at the interface of the academic and commercial archaeological sectors. He has highly developed specialisms within archaeological science including geochemistry, sediment analysis, geoarchaeological analysis, spatial data modelling/GIS, archaeological excavation and sampling, remote sensing, quantitative data analysis, geophysical survey and archaeological stratigraphy.
Chris has delivered multiple programmes of scientific analysis of archaeological sediments and artefacts. He has published numerous international research papers and co-authored the undergraduate textbook ‘Practical and Theoretical Geoarchaeology’. Chris is currently leading the innovation project of magnetic susceptibility scanning of archaeological features and is aiming to develop the deployment of more scientific recording methods at the section edge.
