Senior Geoarchaeological Officer
Christine joined Headland Archaeology in October 2021 as Geoarchaeology Coordinator and has since progressed to Senior Geoarchaeology Officer. She has over a decade of experience in Geoarchaeology which includes the recording and interpretation of Holocene sequences in both academic research and commercial archaeology.
She has a research focus and expansive knowledge of complex wetland environments. Before joining commercial archaeology Christine completed her PhD (University of Reading) in 2015 on ‘Integrating Geophysics and Geochemistry for a Heritage Management Toolkit’. This included an extensive field and laboratory work programme collecting, GPR data alongside borehole and surface samples for laboratory analysis of particle size, humification, bulk density, organic matter, water chemistry, conductivity and pH.
She has since worked on a range of sites including deposit models of large infrastructure projects, including the Oxford Flood Alleviation Scheme and HS2.
