Kirsty has 15 years’ experience in commercial archaeology. She joined Headland Archaeology in 2001 and is now a Project Manager. In this role, she manages projects from the initial project design stage to post-excavation ensuring effective completion adhering to time and budget pressures. She has particular expertise in overseeing large-scale linear infrastructure projects and renewable energy projects and has considerable experience of working directly with engineers to achieve design solutions to archaeological issues. She is passionate about working towards better understanding between clients, consultants and contractors.

She has worked on numerous sites throughout Scotland, England and Ireland and has been involved in a number of large projects for the company, such as the A4/A5 Road in Northern Ireland, the Aberdeen Western Peripheral Route, the Forth Replacement Crossing and Clyde Wind Farm. More recently she has managed industrial and medieval projects in the centre of Edinburgh and St Andrews, working closely with clients to ensure that archaeological requirements are dealt with effectively and efficiently, without causing delays to construction programmes.
