Claire Christie

Claire joined Headland in 2019 as a Post-excavation Project Officer with a background in research, GIS and data. She was promoted to Senior Post-excavation Archaeologist in 2020 due to her involvement in some of Headland’s high-profile projects such as the A14 Cambridge to Huntingdon and the Triton Knoll Onshore Electrical System.

As a Post Excavation Project Manager, Claire is responsible for managing the post-excavation phase of projects through to publication including the creation of research designs. This has included working with multiple authors and specialists to produce assessment reports covering sites of multiple periods and publications including monographs. Claire has experience working on large infrastructure projects involving multiple contractors and collaborators including the A14 and Triton Knoll. Claire has research experience specialising in the prehistoric archaeology of Britain and has presented her research at international conferences, in journals and edited volumes, and has contributed to regional research strategies. Publication highlights include the ‘Defining Spaces in Iron Age Northumberland: Excavations at Morley Hill and Lower Callerton’ and ‘From Coast to Fen: Archaeology in a Dynamic Landscape. The Archaeology of the Triton Knoll Electrical System, Lincolnshire’ monographs for which Claire was Post-excavation Project Manager and an author.
