Katie-Morag Hutton

Technical Services Manager

  • Katie.hutton@headlandarchaeology.com
  • T: 07435982292

Katie-Morag has over 14 years of experience in commercial archaeology, and in this time has gained a vast amount of industry knowledge. For the first nine years she primarily focused her understanding on the archaeological landscape, by working on large-scale quarry projects in East Anglia. Here she gained the essential knowledge of how sites are formed, work and relate to their landscape. It was the introduction of laser scanning and photogrammetry at Must Farm in 2010 that really piqued her interest and from here she moved on to develop her career in Geomatics.

After spending several years in the Geomatics Departments at Oxford Archaeology East and Wessex Archaeology she joined Headland in April 2021. Here she manages the Technical Services Team and supports the Contracting Team, Geophysical Team and Consultancy Team. Her main roles include managing the development and application of surveying, data management and GIS procedures. Providing tendering support for fieldwork projects and taking a lead on tendering in technical projects and ensuring that the work carried out by the staff of the department is compliant with the company SHEQ systems.
