Candy has over 30 years’ experience as a commercial archaeologist. She joined Headland in 2004 and worked as a Senior Archaeologist, specialising in directing large-scale urban projects and was one of the onsite managers for the M74 Completion Project. From 2009 she worked for Historic Environment Scotland as a Senior Heritage Manager before moving to Wessex Archaeology to manage major renewable energy schemes and infrastructure projects.

She has considerable knowledge of UK Heritage policies and legislation and extensive experience of managing multistage archaeological mitigation programmes, as well as co-ordinating post-excavation and publication programmes. In her current role, Candys specialises in large-scale infrastructure projects.

She is responsible for tendering, designing, negotiating and implementing programmes of archaeological work including assessing and identifying archaeological risk on development sites, proposing mitigation strategies and liaising with stakeholders. Examples of her recent management work include Eastern Green Link 1, Sheringham Shoal and Dudgeon OWF Onshore Mitigation Works, Norfolk Vanguard and Boreas OWF Onshore Mitigation works, Triton Knoll OWF Onshore Mitigation works, Springwell Solar Farm, Lincolnshire, One Earth Solar Farm in Nottinghamshire & Lincolnshire and Whitestone Solar Farm in Yorkshire.

Candy completed a PhD in Iron Age archaeology in 2016 and has published extensively on this subject.
