Senior Survey Officer
After joining Headland as a Survey Officer in April 2021, Eleonora was promoted to Senior Survey Officer in 2024. In this role, she leads the survey team, ensuring all members maintain up-to-date skills and feel confident undertaking their tasks. She is responsible for managing survey equipment, making sure each project has the correct tools for on-site data collection, and providing training to both survey and field teams.
Eleonora also oversees the implementation and continuous development of survey methodologies, ensuring they remain aligned with the latest technological developments. She occasionally visits sites, particularly large infrastructure projects, to ensure operations run smoothly and to provide technical support when required.
After her MSc in Classical Archaeology with a specialization in new technologies applied to the cultural heritage, she acquired an extensive experience recording monuments in Rome (Palatin Hill and Via Appia Antica) and Pompeii. In 2018 she moved to the UK started working for the company Archaeological Research Services Ltd until 2021. Here she had the opportunity to start and develop her career in the field of British commercial archaeology from trainee to Assistant Project Officer.
