Daniel Wilkinson

Senior Archaeologist - Geophysics

  • Daniel.wilkinson@headlandarchaeology.com
  • T: 07389714075

During the study of his BA in Archaeology in 2017, Daniel was first introduced to the commercial sector by undergoing a work placement at West Yorkshire Archaeology Services. In which Daniel gained experience conducting commercial excavations and undergoing post-excavation work.

Upon completion of the undergraduate course Daniel entered the commercial workforce looking to expand the skills and knowledge he had gained from his commercial experience and University degree and entered a role as an archaeological geophysicist. It was clear during his tenure at AOC Archaeology that Daniel had developed a passion for archaeological geophysics, surpassing that of other archaeological disciplines.

Daniel has since developed his skills to become a Senior Archaeological Geophysicist at Headland Archaeology owing to a considerable amount of experience supervising and leading numerous geophysical surveys using multiple geophysical techniques such as magnetometry (hand pulled and ATV towed) and ground penetrating radar (GPR) as well as a limited amount of experience conducting electromagnetic (EM), earth resistivity tomography (ERT) and multi spectral photogrammetry for a multitude of commercial and community projects. With 5 years’ experience of undertaking geophysical surveys, Daniel is also trained in using a number of data processing and visualisation packages including but not limited to QGIS, Anomaly and Geolitix.
