Rowena is an Archaeology and Built Heritage Consultant who joined RSK in 2015. She is responsible for providing clients with strategic and project-related advice on archaeology and built heritage, together with liaising and consulting with local authorities, curators and other stakeholders. Rowena’s project work covers researching and writing archaeological desk-based assessments, environmental statement (ES) chapters and heritage statements for the built environment. She also prepares written schemes of investigation and risk assessments for site investigations, undertakes fieldwork and oversees specialist consultants and contractors to deliver projects.

The sectors that Rowena has been involved with include both infrastructure and property development schemes, railway and utilities infrastructure, renewable energy and property refurbishment/redevelopment. She has contributed to a variety of historic environment projects in these areas.

She has specialist experience in managing large scale archaeological linear projects. She has applied for Ministry of Justice burial licences, guided clients in scheduled monument application consents and successfully written and applied for listed building consents. Until recently, she has been seconded in to EKFB, providing archaeological and built heritage support for HS2.
