Finds Analysis

Our finds specialists process, catalogue and analyse artefacts recovered during archaeological fieldwork. We handle all categories of artefact, from prehistoric flint and pottery through to medieval metalwork, post-medieval glass and modern industrial debris.

Our finds service covers the entire post-excavation workflow, from initial processing and marking through to specialist analysis, illustration, photography and archive preparation. We maintain close links with a network of external specialists to ensure that all categories of artefact receive appropriate analysis.

We prepare finds assessments and analyses to the highest standards, in accordance with the relevant CIfA guidelines and the requirements of receiving museums. Our reports are clear, well-illustrated and provide the evidence base to support interpretation and publication.
